In Tummy Time, 4 month old babies can raise their head higher to 90 degrees, keep their head in midline, support themselves on their forearms and look down at their hands.
Based on this important movement development, we suggest a few questions for Parents to think about:
– What age appropriate play activities can babies do now?
– What spinal curve develops first and when do you notice it?
– How does movement enhance social interactions?
Some Parents have told us their babies don’t like Tummy Time. Each baby is unique but with experience will become comfortable on their tummy. These fundamental motor skills that babies develop in Tummy Time are guided by a natural developmental movement progression.
